Training
Sheffield triathlon club uses British Triathlon Federation (BTF) and Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) trained coaches to run the training sessions. This makes each session have a basic structure including warm up, drill work, a main set, and a cool down. Our coaches are here to help you to improve at your pace. If you require specific coaching please just ask the coach at your session and you will be directed to the right person to help you accordingly.
The club also has a number of experienced triathletes who are often more than willing to share their experiences of racing and training, your coach may also be able to point you in the right direction to get help with this too. Please ask.
All the training sessions have a register and there is also a small fee for each session to contribute to the cost of the venue and any coaching costs or equipment used. Unless stated you should also provide all your own kit for the session you attend although we do have some swim floats and turbo trainers available at swimming and turbo sessions.
Open water swimming starts in the summer when the water is warm enough and a wetsuit plus a brightly coloured swimhat is almost always mandatory for this. Please refer to the link for more details.
Our training schedule can be viewed using the link below and we allow non-members to attend one session as a ‘taster’ for you to see if you like what we do before joining the club.
The training schedule is available via the above link. Please also refer to the calendar pages for training sessions as this is the most up to date record of the training schedule.
