Triathlon England and the Yorkshire and Humberside Region are looking to increase the number of Local Technical Officials (what used to be called Referees) within the club structure and the area. This is being done as part of of a number of initiatives to support new and existing clubs within our region. We recognise that the LTO numbers need to increase  in order to improve the quality and number of events, particularly club run events, within our area. We also recognise that numbers alone are not enough and that new officials need to fit into a coordinated structure and support network so as to gain the experience they need and to have mentoring available to them. It would be wrong to suggest that this is all currently in place; however, this issue is being addressed and our region is committed to working with Triathlon England to improve the support network for Officials. With this in mind may I ask you to actively raise this opportunity within your club and to publicise this course on our behalf.
